As of April 17, 2025, the Albany FireWolves are wrapping up their 2024–25 National Lacrosse League (NLL) regular season with impressive results. They recently achieved an 11–10 overtime win against the Buffalo Bandits, the two-time reigning champions. Rookie Dyson Williams clinched the victory with a remarkable behind-the-back shot. Goaltender Doug Jamieson excelled in his role, recording 57 saves, despite the absence of top scorer Alex Simmons, who is sidelined with a knee injury.
This win has elevated the FireWolves to 10th place in the NLL standings, enhancing their chances for a playoff berth. They are scheduled to compete against the Vancouver Warriors on April 4, with three regular-season games left to play. Earlier in the season, the FireWolves set a franchise record with an 11–7 record, which earned them their inaugural home playoff game at MVP Arena against the Halifax Thunderbirds.
In addition to their on-field achievements, the team has been actively involved in community outreach. They collaborated with St. Catherine’s Center for Children to provide complimentary game tickets to children in the program, allowing them to enjoy the excitement of professional sports.
