Angel Reese has achieved numerous milestones throughout her impressive debut season. On Friday, she made history as the first player in WNBA history to secure 20 rebounds in back-to-back games. By Sunday, she extended this remarkable feat to three consecutive games. The rookie from the Chicago Sky recorded 12 points and 22 rebounds in a match against the Las Vegas Aces, thereby becoming the sole player in league history to accomplish three straight games with 20 rebounds.

Reese has equaled Tina Charles' record for the most double-doubles by a rookie, achieving her 22nd double-double of the season in just her 29th game. Charles established this record in 2010. The Sky have 11 games left in the regular season, providing Reese the opportunity to not only break the record but also to extend it. Regrettably for the Sky, Reese's significant achievement occurred during a disappointing loss. Chicago's Chennedy Carter managed to tie the game at 75-75 with a three-pointer with only 1.1 seconds left on the clock. However, A'ja Wilson responded with a buzzer-beating layup on an inbounds play, clinching a 77-75 victory for Las Vegas.

Although the team faced a defeat, Reese's performance on Sunday further highlighted an impressive rookie season characterized by numerous records. On June 30, she established the WNBA record for the most consecutive double-doubles in a single season with her tenth consecutive game. Subsequently, she broke the overall record for consecutive double-doubles by achieving her thirteenth on July 7, ultimately extending the streak to fifteen games. Prior to Sunday’s match, Reese was averaging 13.6 points, a league-leading 12.6 rebounds, along with 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Her remarkable 22-rebound performance on Sunday increased her league-leading average to 12.9 rebounds per game. This outstanding season has not only earned Reese an All-Star selection but also generated discussions regarding her candidacy for Rookie of the Year, alongside Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark. She now adds another achievement to the WNBA record book, with aspirations for further accomplishments.
