Colorado wrapped up its four-game homestand with a 2-0 victory over Michigan on Sunday, finishing the opening stretch with a 3-1 record.

The win was particularly significant for head coach Danny Sanchez, who secured his 300th NCAA victory. This also marked his 136th win at CU, further extending his program lead.

"I usually joke that it just means I've been coaching for a long time, but between Metro State, Wyoming, and CU, I've been fortunate to work in special places with special people," Sanchez said. "It means I've coached some really talented players. I'm excited about it, but it's just the fourth game of the season. Our focus is on getting ready for North Carolina next week."

Boulder native Ava Priest assisted on both first-half goals that secured the win. Juliauna Hayward opened the scoring in the 17th minute, followed by Hope Leyba, who netted her third goal of the season three minutes later.

"I love playing with Ava," Hayward said after the game. "She's crucial to this team. She came off the bench saying she was tired, but I told her, 'You just got us two assists. We wouldn’t have won without you.' I'm really proud of how she’s stepped up, especially as a leader on this team."

Junior Jordan Nytes made four saves to earn her 10th career shutout as a Buff. The win was her 14th, tying her with former Buff Danielle Bassett for the eighth most in CU history.

"I thought we played a solid, professional game," Sanchez remarked. "We didn't make a big deal out of it, but they [Michigan] didn't play on Thursday, so they were fresh. We had a tough match that went down to the wire on Thursday. Our approach was professional, and I was impressed with our defense. We didn’t allow many shots inside the 18. It was a quality shutout and a strong 2-0 win."

Michigan's loss drops them to 0-3 on the season.
