In Game 3 of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, Nikola Jokić delivered a remarkable performance, recording a triple-double with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists.  Despite Jokić's efforts, the Denver Nuggets suffered a 117–83 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, falling behind 2–1 in their first-round series. The Clippers dominated the game, shooting 48.2% from the field and hitting 18 of 39 three-pointers. In contrast, Denver struggled with 40.3% shooting and only 7-of-26 from beyond the arc.  The Nuggets' frustration was evident, with Jokić visibly upset during a timeout, engaging in a heated exchange with assistant coach Ryan Saunders.

Looking ahead, the Nuggets aim to rebound in Game 4 on Saturday, April 26, 2025, as they seek to even the series and keep their championship aspirations alive.

Here’s a breakdown of the key Denver Nuggets players who need to step up following their tough Game 3 loss to the Clippers:

1. Jamal Murray

Jamal Murray had an off night in Game 3, finishing with just 12 points on poor shooting. As the team's primary shot creator next to Jokić, his scoring and playmaking are critical. The Nuggets thrive when Murray is aggressive and efficient—without that, defenses collapse on Jokić.

2. Michael Porter Jr.

MPJ struggled with consistency and shot selection in Game 3. Known for his scoring and three-point shooting, Porter needs to bring more energy on both ends. When he's locked in, he provides the spacing and scoring punch that makes Denver dangerous.

3. Aaron Gordon

Gordon’s defensive versatility is vital against a Clippers team loaded with wings. But offensively, he disappeared in Game 3. He needs to be more assertive cutting, crashing the glass, and taking high-percentage shots.

4. The Bench Unit

The Nuggets' bench was outplayed badly, contributing to the blowout. Reggie Jackson, Christian Braun, and Peyton Watson need to bring more intensity, smart decisions, and reliable shooting to give Jokić and Murray rest without letting the lead slip.

Game 4 is pivotal. If these players elevate their performance, Denver can reset the tone of the series. Otherwise, they risk an early exit.
