The Saskatchewan Rush have officially revealed their 21-man roster for the commencement of the regular season. General Manager Derek Keenan and his team finalized the active roster on Sunday evening, which features four newcomers.
Among the left-handed forwards are Ryan Keenan, Zach Manns, Clark Walter, and Levi Anderson. With three of these players returning from the previous season, expectations are notably high, particularly with the inclusion of 2023 first-round draft pick Levi Anderson. Standing at 6’4”, this power forward is capable of executing a strong two-way game, which should enhance the dynamic play of Manns and Keenan, who collectively amassed 174 points last season. Additionally, 26-year-old Walter is coming off a career-best year, having scored 20 goals and provided 28 assists.
The right-handed forwards include Robert Church, Austin Shanks, Mike Triolo, and Brock Haley. Church has reached the 100-point milestone for the second consecutive season, establishing himself as the offensive leader. This season, he will be joined by 85-point scorer Austin Shanks, who will be integrated into an offense that averaged 12.1 goals per game in the 2023-2024 season. Triolo, a fan favorite known for his impressive 6’8” stature, is expected to make an impact with his ability to score crucial goals, including a hat trick in last season’s finale against Toronto. Completing the right-handed forwards is rookie Brock Haley, who joins the team after an impressive tenure with the Whitby Warriors, where he scored 119 goals during the summer of 2022 (including regular season, playoffs, and Minto Cup). He was acquired from Vancouver during the 2024 draft in exchange for a first-round pick.
On the left-handed defenseman front, Holden Garlent, Jake Boudreau, Ryan Barnable, Isaac Ngyou, and Matt Acchione will take the field. Veteran Garlent will lead this group, which will need to step up early in the season due to Connor McClelland being placed on the Injured Reserve list following an upper body injury. The pairing of Boudreau and Barnable is expected to provide a spark in transition while also taking on increased defensive duties.
