The Patriots announced modifications to their practice squad on Tuesday, bringing in offensive tackle Caleb Jones while parting ways with outside linebacker Brevin Allen. Standing at an impressive 6 feet 9 inches and weighing 370 pounds, the 25-year-old Jones went undrafted from Indiana in 2022 and has been with the Packers for the past two seasons, participating in one game. Allen, who was signed by the Patriots on August 29, had a brief tenure on the practice squad prior to his release on Tuesday.
Jones stands as the sole offensive tackle on the practice squad of the Patriots. The active 53-man roster includes Demontrey Jacobs, Vederian Lowe, Chukwuma Okorafor, Mike Onwenu, and Caedan Wallace in the tackle positions. Following Allen's release, the Patriots now have edge defenders Ochaun Mathis and Jotham Russell on the practice squad. The 53-man roster also features Keion White, Deatrich Wise, Anfernee Jennings, Joshua Uche, and Oshane Ximines. Alongside Jones, Russell, and Mathis on the practice squad are running backs Kevin Harris and Terrell Jennings, wide receivers Matt Landers and Jalen Reagor, tight end Mitchell Wilcox, guards Jerome Carvin, Michael Jordan, and Liam Fornadel, center Bryan Hudson, defensive tackle Trysten Hill, linebackers Joe Giles-Harris and Yvandy Rigby, cornerback Isaiah Bolden, and safety A.J. Thomas.
