Tyreek Hill, the renowned wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, asserts that Travis Hunter, a standout two-way player from Colorado, should be the first overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hill was clearly impressed by Hunter's remarkable performance against North Dakota State during the Buffaloes' season opener on Thursday, where Hunter played a pivotal role in securing a victory for Colorado. Following the game, the Dolphins receiver took to social media to commend Hunter and highlight his immense potential.

Regardless of whether the Dolphins secure the top draft pick, which seems unlikely if Hill and his teammates perform to their capabilities, the wide receiver is advocating for Hunter. Typically, it is uncommon for wide receivers or cornerbacks to be selected first overall; however, Hunter's unique ability to excel in both positions may challenge this trend. His performance in college has already begun to do so. Under the guidance of Deion Sanders, Hunter has established himself as one of the most electrifying players in the game. With Colorado now competing in the Big 12 and attracting increased attention, it is possible that NFL teams will recognize Hunter's talent and consider him for the first overall selection.

Although the event is still some time away and much can change throughout a football season, Travis Hunter is emerging as one of the most exciting players to observe in the sport, with Tyreek Hill offering his support. Deion Sanders remarked on Travis Hunter’s performance, stating, "That’s who he is." However, the upcoming match against North Dakota State was not expected to be an easy challenge for Colorado on Thursday’s prominent stage. The Bison have established themselves as a formidable force at the FCS level, and Deion Sanders acknowledged the quality of the opponent his team would encounter. Consequently, Travis Hunter emphasized the necessity for CU to show respect towards NDSU.

He prepared thoroughly for the contest, stating, “We had the respect for them. Every opponent deserves our respect. This is my first time playing with this group, so we understand the importance of respecting everyone. Since this is our initial game together, we are still learning how each other plays. Therefore, we must approach them with respect.” We engage in extensive film analysis. This week alone, I dedicated 10 hours to studying those individuals. Our respect for them was warranted, as they demonstrated their competitive spirit on the field. Regarding Hunter's impressive performance, Sanders expressed no astonishment. He noted that the two-way standout consistently showcases his skills during practice, and he successfully translated that ability into a game environment on Thursday night.

Sanders conveyed to ESPN’s Quint Kessenich, “Travis is simply who he is. We witness this during every practice, day in and day out. He rarely takes a day off unless we compel him to do so. That is just his nature. The entire receiving corps, along with the offensive line, performed admirably in safeguarding our quarterback, who exhibited exceptional skill.”
