Will the Lobos receive a ranking? Below is Geoff Grammer's AP Top 25 men's basketball ballot.

The UNM Lobos have commenced the season with an impressive record of 18 wins and 4 losses. Their conference performance stands at 10 wins and 1 loss, marking the best start in Mountain West history for the Lobos, who currently hold the top position in the league standings.

Following a decisive 82-63 victory against Utah State on Saturday, the Lobos are expected to receive an increase in votes in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, which is published every Monday during the season.

Last week, the Lobos garnered votes from two voters, with one placing them at No. 23 and the other at No. 25, resulting in a total of four points in the "others receiving votes" category, positioning them 11 spots away from a ranking. The team ranked No. 25 last week, the defending national champion Connecticut, accumulated 131 points, indicating that the Lobos have significant ground to cover to achieve a ranking.

However, with 11 teams in the Top 25 suffering losses this past week, and considering that Utah State, whom the Lobos defeated on their home court, was just three spots shy of the Top 25 with 99 points, there is a reasonable possibility that some of those votes may shift in favor of the Lobos following this head-to-head matchup.

Geoff Grammer, a staff writer for the journal, is among the 62 national voters for the AP. He did not include either UNM or Utah State in his rankings last week.

Below is the ballot he submitted for Monday's poll:
